pLEASE rEAD ALL STEPS BEFORE sTARTING
- Before you begin, choose which impression tray fits your mouth the best.
- Mix one of each colour putty together until the white colour disappears and the putty reaches a consistent colour. Take no longer than 30 seconds to complete this stage.
- Roll the putty into a sausage-like shape and place it inside the tray, ensuring there is plenty of putty at the front of the tray.
- Keeping the tray handle aligned with your nose, locate your front teeth and push the tray upwards as far as possible, then bite down firmly at the back for a couple of seconds. Keep the tray still for 2 minutes to allow the putty to set.
- After two minutes, remove the tray from inside your mouth. It may feel tight against your teeth, in which case a gentle rocking motion of the tray may be applied to remove it.
- Wrap the impression in tissue and place it in the plastic bag supplied. Finally place the bag and your lab ticket inside the free post envelope. Please then take it to your local post office or parcel box.

Karate Gumshields: Precision Protection for Kumite
In Karate, control is everything—but as any practitioner knows, even the most controlled "Sunome" (contact) can result in a stray fist or foot. Whether you are competing under WKF (World Karate Federation) rules or training in a full-contact Dojo like Kyokushin, your gumshield needs to be as disciplined as your technique.
Key Requirements for Karateka
Karate demands a balance of high-impact protection and the ability to breathe sharply during explosive movements.
-
WKF Compliance: For official competition, mouthguards are mandatory for Kumite. While they don't always require a specific brand stamp, many organizations prefer clear or transparent models to ensure officials can see if a guard is being worn.
-
Breathability for "Kiai": Karate involves sharp, sudden exhalations and vocalizations. Our Karate range features a slim, ergonomic fit that stays locked to your upper arch, so it won't drop or obstruct your airway when you kiai.
-
Low-Profile Shock Absorption: Since Karate strikes (Uchi) are often lightning-fast, you need a guard that can disperse energy instantly. Our dual-layer technology uses a rigid outer shell to deflect the snap of a strike and a gel liner to cushion your teeth.
-
Lateral Stability: Essential for when you’re caught mid-transition or during a sweep (Ashi Barai), where the jaw is most vulnerable to side-on impact.
The Competition Check
Did you know? Under WKF rules, if a contestant is found not to be wearing a gumshield after the bout has started, they are immediately disqualified. Don't let a forgotten guard end your tournament before it begins.
Why Our Guards Are "Dojo Ready"
Unlike bulky, "one-size-fits-all" guards, our Karate gumshields are designed to be remoldable. If your bite changes or the fit feels off after a few months of heavy training, you can simply re-boil and re-mold to ensure the fit is always 100% secure.
