pLEASE rEAD ALL STEPS BEFORE sTARTING
- Before you begin, choose which impression tray fits your mouth the best.
- Mix one of each colour putty together until the white colour disappears and the putty reaches a consistent colour. Take no longer than 30 seconds to complete this stage.
- Roll the putty into a sausage-like shape and place it inside the tray, ensuring there is plenty of putty at the front of the tray.
- Keeping the tray handle aligned with your nose, locate your front teeth and push the tray upwards as far as possible, then bite down firmly at the back for a couple of seconds. Keep the tray still for 2 minutes to allow the putty to set.
- After two minutes, remove the tray from inside your mouth. It may feel tight against your teeth, in which case a gentle rocking motion of the tray may be applied to remove it.
- Wrap the impression in tissue and place it in the plastic bag supplied. Finally place the bag and your lab ticket inside the free post envelope. Please then take it to your local post office or parcel box.

Kickboxing Gumshields: Protection for Every Strike
Kickboxing demands a unique level of dental security. Because you’re dealing with a high volume of rapid-fire punches and head kicks, your gumshield needs to handle both direct frontal impacts and lateral (side) strikes.
At Gumshields.com, we design our kickboxing range to ensure that whether you're throwing a spinning back-kick or eating a jab, your teeth and jaw remain intact.
What Makes a Great Kickboxing Guard?
While similar to Muay Thai, kickboxing involves more constant movement and high-volume punching. Your guard needs to stay out of the way so you can focus on your footwork.
-
Frontal Shielding: Extra thickness at the front to protect the incisors from straight punches and stiff jabs.
-
Bite-Pad Compression: Reinforced areas where your molars meet, which helps "lock" the jaw. This is crucial for absorbing the shock of a hook that could otherwise cause a dislocation or concussion.
-
Speech Clarity: Our guards are contoured to the roof of your mouth, allowing you to breathe deeply and shout instructions or "kiai" without the guard falling out.
-
Anti-Slip Texture: Specialized internal grip ensures the guard doesn't shift when you take a glancing blow to the cheek or chin.
Why "Boil-and-Bite" Isn't Enough
Generic guards often feel bulky, leading athletes to chew on them or take them out during drills. Our Advanced Polymer technology allows for a thinner profile with double the impact resistance of standard EVA plastic. You get the comfort of a custom-fit with the convenience of a home-mold.
