IMPRESSION STEPS

pLEASE rEAD ALL STEPS BEFORE sTARTING

  1. Before you begin, choose which impression tray fits your mouth the best.
  2. Mix one of each colour putty together until the white colour disappears and the putty reaches a consistent colour. Take no longer than 30 seconds to complete this stage.
  3. Roll the putty into a sausage-like shape and place it inside the tray, ensuring there is plenty of putty at the front of the tray.
  4. Keeping the tray handle aligned with your nose, locate your front teeth and push the tray upwards as far as possible, then bite down firmly at the back for a couple of seconds. Keep the tray still for 2 minutes to allow the putty to set.
  5. After two minutes, remove the tray from inside your mouth. It may feel tight against your teeth, in which case a gentle rocking motion of the tray may be applied to remove it.
  6. Wrap the impression in tissue and place it in the plastic bag supplied. Finally place the bag and your lab ticket inside the free post envelope. Please then take it to your local post office or parcel box.

FAQ

How Do You Order A Custom Gumshield?

Simply purchase the gumshield design of your choice and check out. Once we receive your order we will send you a home impression kit the same day you ordered (MON-FRI).

What Is The Turn Around Time On A Custom Made Gumshield?

The average turn around time is around 7-10 from when we receive your impression back. This can vary so you may receive your gumshield sooner.

What Thickness Should I Choose For My Gumshield?

The thickness of your gumshield will depend on personal preference. All of our gumshields will protect you to a very high standard as they are all custom fitted to your mould.

An extra thickness gumshield will hinder speech slightly so for team sports such as rugby and hockey we wouldn't recommend choosing it.

For individual sports such as boxing and MMA an extra thickness gumshield may be better suited due to the frequency of bows to the head.

Why Does My Gumshield Have A Bubble In It?

Air blows are very common in custom gumshields. These are caused by an uneven surface when the material is placed over the top of the teeth. These DO NOT affect the structure of the gumshield however we will aim to avoid any dubbles within the design.
