This splint is always constructed on the lower arch and incorporates a lingual bar, two ball clasps and posterior acrylic bite pads. It is designed to reposition the mandible and neuromuscular balance.
Trauma splint
Dental trauma splints prevent the dislocation of repositioned or replanted teeth, by stabilising them during the periodontal tissues healing period. The splint is flexible enough to allow natural movement and to reduce the risk of external root resorption.
Gingiva mask
There are three usual fields in which to use a gingival mask:
Cosmetic treatment of gum recession owing to illness
Protection of exposed cervical areas after a periodontal treatment
Interim prostheses after provision with implants.
Gingival masks are made in Valplast(R) material.
Other appliances are available and we have brochures featuring many of the devices.
